About St. Joseph’s Vocational High School - Nakasongola

Our History

St. Joseph’s Vocational High School was founded in 1998 by the then Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Joseph Kakooza Nyanzi, with support from Christians and in conjunction with Kasana-Luweero Diocese.

The school was initially accommodated at the premises of Nakasongola R/C Primary School, where it operated for more than five years before relocating to its current site.

In 2008, St. Joseph’s Vocational High School partnered with the Government of Uganda under the Universal Secondary Education (USE) programme.

Two years later, the school was granted Government Aid, marking another important stage in its development.

Vocational Education

One of the distinguishing characteristics of St. Joseph’s is the integration of vocational skills with academic education. The school's vocational programme originated from the earlier NAPOPEC vocational programme associated with the parish.

The photographs provided by the school show students actively participating in practical learning, including carpentry and woodwork, tailoring, art and design, craft production and exhibitions of student work.
